NWOSU Foundation Release
The University Singers, Northwestern Oklahoma State University’s premier chorale group, will bring their New York City tour concert to the Woodward Arts Theatre & Jessie Adams Cultural Centre, 818 Main Street, on Thursday, March 5. “New York City, Northwestern Style” will begin at 7:30 p.m., and admittance to the public is free.
Specializing in music from the Renaissance to the Contemporary periods, the University Singers are noted for the excellence in the choral art. The highly-acclaimed group has performed across the globe, including a recent tour in Memphis and a 2013 nine-day tour to China.
On March 16, these gifted Northwestern students will begin their New York City tour and will perform at Carnegie Hall, the United Nations and The Cathedral Church of Saint John the Divine. The group performs under the direction of Dr. Irene Messoloras. Dr. Messoloras serves as assistant professor of music, director of choral and vocal activities, and Chair, Department of Fine Arts.
Northwestern recruitment representatives will be available to answer questions about the university’s music and other academic programs.
The performance is being sponsored by the Northwestern Foundation & Alumni Association, OG&E, Woodward Arts & Theatre Council, Inc., and the Woodward Industrial Foundation.
