Celebrate Women's History Month with Maj. Gen. Rita Aragon

Oklahoma secretary of military and veterans’ affairs Maj. Gen. Rita Aragon will speak about the “History of Women in the Military” at Northwestern Oklahoma State University-Enid in room 202 on Monday, March 26, at 7 p.m.

The public is invited to attend this free event.

Her presentation will be broadcast via ITV to Northwestern locations in Alva – Carter Hall room 107; Woodward – room 114; and Ponca City – room 119.

Aragon was born and raised in rural Oklahoma and worked through college to become an elementary teacher. As a single mother she decided to join the Oklahoma Air National Guard to financially support her family. She is the first female Oklahoma secretary of military and veteran’s affairs, and also serves as liaison to the governor for all Oklahoma military and veterans’ issues.

She also participates and facilitates the Oklahoma Military Strategic Planning Group that helps ensure the stability and growth of the communities and facilities of the five military installations in the state.
