Oklahoma
Small Business Development Center
The Center works in cooperation
with the OSBDC in fostering business development and growth. The
center and the OSBDC fill information and research requests for clients,
depending on the nature of the request and the appropriateness of each
entity to fulfill such requests. The OSBDC provides one-on-one counseling
for individual clients whereas the Center meets the needs of a larger market
of community development. The Center and the OSBDC also work cooperatively
in developing and presenting seminars and workshops. Such seminars include
strategic planning and marketing.
Housed within the OSBDC is
the NWOSU Community Data
Center, a cooperative project of the OSBDC and NWOSU. The Data
Center services area business clients and economic development agencies
within its fifteen county region. Community profiles compiled and
published by the Data Center act as a one-stop storing house of information
including specific data on the communities within its region. The Community
Data Center also serves as a U.S. Census depository.
