Best selling author and activist to speak at Northwestern

Northwestern Oklahoma State University student organization, C.O.R.E. – Conserving Our Ranger Environment – will play host to speaker Julia Butterfly Hill Wednesday, April 9, from 7-9 p.m. in the Student Center Ball room.

C.O.R.E welcomes Hill to speak on the power that each of us holds in order to better the planet and all its living systems. Hill will present "It's Your World: Take It Personally!”

As a peace and earth activist and bestselling author, she ushered in the modern day environmental movement with a 738 day tree sit-in to protect a grove of redwood trees in northern California. Since then, Julia travels the world dedicating her energy to supporting communities in their efforts to protect their land, air and water.
