Posting Replies to Discussion Board Questions
Note: To enable closed captioning of the videos, use Window Media Player and from the menu click Play, then Captions & Subtitles, and make sure "Captions" is selected. Also, on the menu click View and make sure that "Full Mode" is selected.
Discussion questions are the life blood of an online course. Always make sure that you answer discussion questions because many professors require it and assign grades for discussion board replies.
Below is a typical discussion question:
After you click on the discussion question link, the next page will appear:
Clicking on the Add New Thread button will reveal the next page where you can answer the question:
The above image shows that Bb has a nifty text editor, complete with a spell checker (the "ABC" button on the menu bar). Be sure to check your spelling before clicking the Submit button.
After you have answered the question, click the Submit button. You answer will show up in the discussion board.
To reply to someone else's reply, DON'T click the Add New Thread button. Instead, click on the subject heading link beside that person's name, as shown below:
