    June 19, 2012 – With a gift of $50,000 to the Northwestern Oklahoma State University Foundation, a scholarship established by the late Dr. John Schuhmacher will give assistance to students in need at his alma mater and continue the Schuhmacher legacy in the Alva community.

    A lively discussion about the nature of science and religion, focusing on the science of evolution, will be held at Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva on Feb. 13, in the Science Amphitheatre, and at Northwestern-Enid on Feb. 14, in the Commons Area. Both programs will take place from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.
  • Northwestern science class looks to relocate campus bats

    It may take a few months, but members of a Northwestern Oklahoma State University science class have set out to remedy a current campus bat problem. Last spring, students in the Wildlife Management Techniques class taught by Dr. Aaron Place, assistant professor of biology, undertook the service learning project of looking for a solution to remove the current bat population from both the Student Center, as well as the Joe J. Struckle Education Center.
  • Northwestern to celebrate renovation of campus buildings

    While students, faculty and staff have been enjoying the renovated surroundings of two newly-renovated campus classroom buildings at Northwestern Oklahoma State University for a few weeks, the public is invited to get its first-hand look at the new and improved Science and Health and Sports Science Education buildings on April 24.

    Dr. Steven Maier, assistant professor of physics at Northwestern Oklahoma State University, completed and defended his dissertation to receive his doctorate in educational studies in December.
