Basketball to take on Lubbock Christian tonight

ALVA, Okla. - The Northwestern Oklahoma State University men's and women's basketball teams will square off against Lubbock Christian tonight. The doubleheader is slated for a 6 p.m. start. The first 750 fans to enter will receive a free t-shirt.

The women will get things started with a matchup against its second consecutive ranked opponent. The No. 7 Lady Chaparrals come in with a 14-game winning streak and are the only team to defeat No. 1 Oklahoma City this season. Stephanie Shaw's team fell just short 70-69 against No. 1 Oklahoma City in their last game.

Senior Autumn Klugh needs 63 points to join the 1000 Point Club. The women look to have a firm grasp on a Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament bid. Stephanie Shaw's bunch is currently in a three-way tie for fifth in the conference.

The men will play immediately following the women's game and are coming off a hard-fought 55-51 win over Oklahoma City. While the women look to be in great shape to make the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament, the men need every win they can get. Lubbock Christian is just a half-game behind the Rangers for the No. 7 seed and Oklahoma City sits ninth and lurks one game back of the Rangers.
