Northwestern Oklahoma State University’s baseball facility officially has a new name that will serve as a legacy to one of Alva’s legendary families.

The regents of the Regional University System of Oklahoma approved Northwestern’s request to name its baseball facility Myers Stadium at its meeting on June 19 in Edmond.

Four members of the Northwestern Oklahoma State baseball team were honored today by the Sooner Athletic Conference as the 2009 All-Conference teams were announced.

Northwestern’s Chris Williams was named to the first-team, while Anthony Cros and Dan Coury were second-team members. Cros was additionally named to the Gold Glove Team.

This donation will be used to renovate the playing surface that will include re-leveling and reseeding.

Northwestern’s final baseball game of the season, scheduled for Saturday, May 2 against USAO, has been cancelled due to rain in the Chickasha area and will not be made up. The Rangers finished 26-27 under Ryan Bay’s first season at the helm.

ALVA, Okla. – The Northwestern baseball team dropped its final pair of games on Thursday, falling 5-2 and 4-1 to USAO at Ranger Field. The losses dipped the Rangers a game under .500, with a 26-27 overall record with a game to go.
