TAILGATE FOR FIRST
NORTHWESTERN FOOTBALL GAME PLANNED
The
Alumni Association has scheduled a free tailgate
party for Northwestern’s home and season opening
football game against the Southwestern Oklahoma
State University Bulldogs. The tailgate will
begin at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 28 on the
second tier of Ranger Field in Alva.
The tailgate party is free for anyone attending
the football game. The Rowdy Rangers will be
cooking hot dogs and hamburgers and there will
appearances by the Ranger Cheerleaders, band,
and special guest, Rowdy the Ranger. (Read

ALUMNI BUS TRIP TO SOUTH DAKOTA CANCELED
The
Alumni Association fan bus trip scheduled to
watch the Rangers take on Black Hills State
University in South Dakota September 12-15 has
been canceled. The Alumni Association was not
able to sell enough seats to make the trip
happen.
Anybody who still plans to attend the game and
needs a place to stay needs to contact Lizabeth
Richey by 5 p.m. on Monday, August 18. The
Alumni Association currently has a block of
rooms reserved in South Dakota but if nobody is
interested these rooms will be released. (Read

NORTHWESTERN FOOTBALL RANKED 15TH
IN 2008 NAIA COACHES PRESEASON POLL
In
addition to being selected to win the Central
States Football League, the Northwestern
Oklahoma State University Ranger Football Team
has been chosen as the 15th team in
the NAIA, according to the NAIA Coaches
Preseason Poll released on August 11.
The poll was
voted upon by a panel of head coaches
representing each of the conferences and
independents. The first regular season Top 25
poll will be announced on Sept. 15. (Read

INLOW RECEIVES ACADEMIC
ALL-AMERICAN RODEO HONORS

The National Intercollegiate
Rodeo Association has announced Jade Inlow of
Northwestern Oklahoma State University as an
Academic All-American.
Inlow, a sophomore from Oakley,
Kan., was one of over 30 contestants to receive
the honor. The honor is bestowed on NIRA members
that have a 3.5 cumulative grade point average
and qualified for the 2008 College National
Finals Rodeo in Casper, Wyoming this past June.
