Art Society reminding Northwestern to get ready for spring art show

As Northwestern Oklahoma State University students, current and retired employees and alumni enjoy the holidays, the NWOSU Art Society wants them to be aware of the 12th annual art show that will take place during the spring semester in March in the J.W. Martin Library on the Alva campus.

There are several categories for studio art including drawings, mixed media, paintings, design and cartoons/comic. There are categories in artisan crafts for both functional and non-functional art, jewelry, textiles/quilts/needlework and a category for art made from recyclable materials. There also are 12 categories in photography including landscapes, black and white and people.

Members of the art society will be working during the spring semester to update all categories and the entry form so it will be ready for everyone to enter in February.

Entry forms will be due Feb. 25, and art pieces will be need to be delivered to the library by March 4. The show will open Sunday, March 8.

Only two entries per category are allowed. Entries are free, and students are eligible for cash prizes. Current and retired employees, as well as alumni also may enter.

Anyone with questions should direct them to Angelia Case, art society sponsor, at (580) 327-8577 or Information from last year’s show is available at
