Art comes in many forms, and Northwestern Oklahoma State University Art Society (NAS) members have a project they would like to do, but will need a little help from the community with their chosen medium.
Members have decided to create a wall art piece using recycled materials, specifically lids.
Anyone who would like to help the club with its project can do so by saving lids of any size and color from water/pop bottles, butter bowls, frosting cans, sports drinks, toothpaste, medicine bottles, glue bottles, canned goods (preferably without sharp edges) and more.
“Basically, if it’s a lid on something, please save it because we’ll need several,” Angelia Case, NAS sponsor, said. “And, we’d love it even more if they were washed or rinsed well before saving. We’re trying to see how many lids can be collected over the Christmas break, and will probably continue to collect after that time.
“Our plan is to complete the project in time to display it in our annual campus art show in March,” Case said.
Lids can be delivered to Vinson Hall, room 113.
For those who may have several lids collected before Dec. 14, they can be taken to the club’s Holiday Store for Kids and Photos with Santa event on Dec. 14, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the Student Center on the Alva campus.
Questions can be directed to Case at (580) 327-8577 or email@example.com or Hanson Long, NAS president, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
