Important Dates to Remember

  • Registration Deadline – Friday, April 6 (via mail, campus mail, in person, by e-mail (arcase@nwosu.edu)  or via the online form below.
  • Art Drop Off Day at Alva Campus Library - no later than 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 11.
  • Only those with permission will be allowed to bring artwork no later than noon on Friday, April 13.
  • Show Opens! – Saturday, April 14
  • Last Day of Campus Show - Saturday, April 28
  • Move winners to Runnymede – Sunday, April 29 * All Winning Pieces Taken Unless Entrant Specifies Differently *
  • Non-Placing Artwork must be picked up by 5:30 p.m. Monday, April 30 from Media Services Department, Library - Upstairs
    Runnymede Show opens/Reception (7-8:30 p.m.) - Monday, April 30
    Runnymede Show ends at 6 p.m. – Tuesday, May 1 - Artwork available for pick up after 6 p.m.

Last Chance Art Pick up Day at Media Services office all day (until 5 p.m.) Wednesday, May 4.

Students, Employees, Alumni and Retirees need to bring their entries to the Media Services located inside the J.W. Martin Library. If you live out of town, you may mail the pieces to Angelia Case (at your own risk), NWOSU Library, 709 Oklahoma Blvd., Alva, OK 73717. You must provide the postage to return the piece to you, or come by the office to pick it up.

Entrants who cannot drop off or pick up their artwork as scheduled must make special arrangements before Wednesday, April 11. If you have any questions or need to make special arrangements, please contact Angelia Case by email at arcase@nwosu.edu or call 580-327-8577. Only those with permission will be allowed to bring artwork no later than noon on Friday, April 13.

Before entering artwork, entrants need to read and understand contest rules.

Winner’s Show: If your entry wins any Award, it is eligible and will be taken to the Winner’s Show held in Downtown Alva at the Runnymede Hotel. Entrants must specify if entries should not be taken to this show. The show will be held Monday and Tuesday, April 30 and May 1.

A reception will be held celebrating the winners and show at the Runnymede on Monday, April 30, from 7-8:30 p.m. Please plan to attend.

Info you need to know

For installation and identification purposes, all pieces must include the title of the work, category entered and your name in the upper right hand corner on the back side, if possible.

All photography must be matted or mounted and photos must be at least 5”x7”. No frames allowed on photography.

All other work needs to be matted and/or framed, if framing is possible. Only 3-dimensional work is exempt, and it must be labeled. Special attention should always be paid to the presentation of your art work.

The NWOSU Art Society and the J.W. Martin Library are not responsible for loss or damage of any artwork. Any work deemed inappropriate by NAS and school standards will not be displayed.

Divisions and Categories for 9th annual Art Show

  • Studio Art: Drawing, Mixed Media, Paintings, Print Design, Cartoons/Comics
  • Artisan Crafts: Functional Art, Non-Functional Art, Textiles/Quilts/Needlework
  • Photography/Digital Art: Landscapes, Animals, Plants, Black and White, Conceptual, Elements of Design, People, Photojournalism, Ranger Surprise, Photomanipulation.
  • Special Category:  Cell Phone Photography.  Please provide additional information below in the form.
  • CORE’S “ReUse, Recycle, Re-Art.” If you are entering CORE's recycle category, you must also provide additional information asked in questions below.
