FOUR SOFTBALL PLAYERS NAMED TO ALL-SAC SQUADS
Four
Northwestern Oklahoma State softball players were
honored by the Sooner Athletic Conference as the
All-Conference teams were announced earlier this
week. Jackie Kopacek was named to the first-team
squad as an infielder while pitcher Becky Holland,
outfielder Kati Jo Gabaldon and utility player Jeana

KLUGH INKS WITH WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
Milburn
Barton, Northwestern Oklahoma State University
women’s basketball head coach, announced the recent
signing of Autumn Klugh of Fort Cobb. Cobb will join
the Lady Ranger basketball team for the upcoming
2008-09 season.
A 5-7 guard, Klugh helped Fort Cobb High School to a
state-runner up finish this past season. A member of the
Daily Oklahoman Super Five team and named the Daily
Oklahoman’s Class A State Tournament MVP, Klugh shot 49
percent (215/440) from the floor and was 40 percent
(92/230) from three-point range, as she scored 679

RANGER SOFTBALL DROPS TWO IN SAC TOURNEY
The
Northwestern Oklahoma State University softball team
fell in its two games in the Sooner Athletic
Conference Tournament played at Hall of Fame Stadium
in Oklahoma City on Friday, May 2 and Saturday May
3. The Rangers were defeated 7-3 by Rogers State in
the opener at 10 a.m. and were later downed by USAO,
10-8, after a walk-off home run in the ninth inning.

PHILLIPS TO STEP DOWN AS HEAD BASEBALL COACH
Northwestern
Oklahoma State University head baseball coach and
assistant athletic director Joe Phillips will leave
those positions at the end of the school year, but will
remain with the institution as an instructor.
Phillips completed his 20th season as head baseball
coach last week and will leave with a career record of
452-527. Phillips has been associated with the Ranger
baseball program since 1983 when he began his playing
career after transferring from Cowley County (Kan.)

LADY RANGER GOLF TEAM TAKES SEVENTH AT REGIONALS
EDMOND,
Okla. – The Lady Ranger golf team closed out
their season at the Region VI Tournament on Monday
and Tuesday as they competed in the Region VI
Tournament at the par-72, 6,150-yard Rose Creek Golf
Course in Edmond. The Rangers finished seventh with
