<p>The eighth place finish is the best ever finish at the conference championships by a men's golf team at Northwestern.</p>
<p>The Rangers shot 316 in each of the first two rounds but shot 306 in today's third round.</p>
<p>Kyle Ward led the way for the Rangers shooting 76 in the final round. The round gave him a three-round score of 230, good enough for 33rd place overall. Ward's best round was a 75, which&nbsp;he shot during yesterday's opening round.</p>
<p>Ben Eastes was Northwestern's second best golfer firing a 76 in the third round to score 232, just two shots behind Ward. He finished 35th overall. Eastes shot a pair of 78s on the tournament's first day.</p>
<p>Austin Cowen finished 39th overall and shot a tournament-best round of 78 on Tuesday.<br />
<br />
Jay Lee finished 40th overall with an overall score of 242 and shot 83 in the third round.</p>
<p>CJ Wilson bounced back firing a 76 for today's round and finished 43rd overall.</p>
<p>Oklahoma City won the tournament with a 29-under-par 835. </p>
<p>The tournament ends the season for Northwestern men's golf team.</p>

The Rangers shot 316 in both the first and second rounds of the championship. Oklahoma City is leading going into the third round shooting 563, 13 under par.<br />
<br />
Kyle Ward is tied for 30th after shooting a 75 on the first 18 holes and coming back with a 79 on the second 18. Ben Eastes shot a pair of 78s and is 36th overall.<br />
<br />
Jay Lee shot 82 in round one but came back with a 77 in round two and is in 38th place while Austin Cowen shot 163 over the first two rounds. </p>

<p><strong>HERBER SPRINGS, Ark</strong>. - Kyle Ward finished tied for 13th shooting a 75 and 74 for a total score of 149 as the Northwestern Oklahoma State University men's golf team finished seventh at the Natural State Golf Classic hosted by Harding University at the Red Apple Country Club. The team shot 313 on day one and 308 on day two.</p>
<p>Jay Lee shot 74 on day one and came back today with an 80 to score 154 as an individual for the Rangers. Lee finished tied for 28th overall.</p>
<p>CJ Wilson shot a 76 on the first day and finished 14 over par for the tournament and in 35th place. Austin Cowen fired a 76 on day two to pull one shot behind Wilson, shooting 157 for the tournament. His 157 was good enough for 39th overall.</p>

<br />
Kyle Ward finished fifth overall shooting 151 for the two days. Ward shot 75 in the first round and 76 for the tournament's second round.<br />
<br />
Austin Cowan (153) finished two shots behind Ward firing a final round 75 after a 78 on day one.<br />
<br />
Ben Eastes shot an 80 on day one and an 82 on day two for 162. <br />
<br />
Wayne Heffington shot an 80 on day two and an 85 on day one for 165 while Jay Lee's 82 gave him 168 for the tournament.<br />
<br />
The Rangers will return to action at the OBU Spring Invitational on April 2.</p>

The Rangers played very well on day one opening with a team score of 295 putting them one stroke ahead of host Sterling after the first 18. <br />

The Rangers fell off a bit on day two firing a 301. Northwestern finished with a two-day total of 596 finishing 5 shots behind tournament champion Sterling. <br />

Lee led Northwestern in scoring with a 75-71-146. Kyle Ward shot a 74-75-149 placing him in 7th. Ben Eastes carded a 71-81-152, which put him in him in a tie for 14th, while Cowan shot a 75-82-157, which put him in a tie for 23rd. Wayne Heffington had a big turnaround to his round on day two going 88-73 placing him in 31st. <br />
Drew Holden and M.T. Morrow played as individuals for Northwestern. Morrow shot 84-76-160 in a three-way tie for 28th. Holden shot 87-87-174. <br />

Northwestern has completed all their tournaments for the fall. <p>The Rangers recorded a three-day total of 981. </p>
<p>Northwestern opened the two-day, three-round tournament with a 328 in the first 18 on Monday and finished 9 strokes better on the second 18 with 319, which was good for 9th place after the first two rounds. On day two of the tournament, Northwestern had their worst round finishing with a team score of 334. </p>
<p>Kyle Ward and Austin Cowan led the way for Northwestern as both finished tied for 45th. Ward shot 79-80-85 —244, while Cowan shot 82-79-83 —244. Jay Lee placed 57th with a three day&nbsp;total of 85-86-79 —250. Benjamyn Eastes finished in 60th place. Eastes shot an 82-85-87 —254. Wayne Heffington rounded out the team scoring for Northwestern with a 92-75-91 —258. Heffington had the lowest round recorded for Northwestern with the 75. </p>
<p>The Rangers are back at it again next week for their final tournament of the fall season. They will be heading north to play in the Warrior Invitational hosted by Sterling College (Kan.). (9-15-11)</strong> – The Northwestern Oklahoma State men’s golf team second tournament of the fall season got off to a great start after day one, only to see them struggle on day two and finish 5th of out the 7 teams in the Mid-America Christian Fall Invitational September 12-13 at the Earlywine Golf Club in Oklahoma City. </p>
<p>The Rangers recorded a two-day total of 613 playing the south course both days of the tournament. Northwestern opened with a 297 on Monday, which was good for 4th place after the first day and only 10 shots back of leader Rogers State. </p>
<p>On day two though Northwestern struggled and finished with a 316 and finishing 5th overall in the tournament. Fellow Sooner Athletic Conference member Rogers State won the event with a two-day total of 577.</p>
<p>Kyle Ward got off to a hot start on Monday firing a 68 and leading the field, but shot 85 on Tuesday. He finished 15th overall with a 68-85—153. Jay Lee placed 17th with a pair of 77’s totaling 154 for his two days. </p>
<p>Austin Cowan and Benjamyn Eastes finished in 20th and 22nd place, respectively. Cowan carded a 78-77 —155, while Eastes shot a 74-82 —156. Wayne Heffington rounded out the team scoring for Northwestern with an 81-80—161, placing 29th. </p>
<p>Kelby Schick played as the individual for Northwestern. He shot 81-84—165 putting him into a tie for 34th. </p>
<p>The Rangers have two weeks off before their next tournament. They will be heading south to play in the Texhoma Championship hosted by Southeastern Oklahoma State University. Northwestern opened with a 315 on Tuesday and finished with a 290 on Wednesday, which was the third best round of any team that day. Fellow Sooner Athletic Conference member Southern Nazarene won the event with a two-day total of 572, just two strokes ahead of Oklahoma Baptist. </p>
<p>Kyle Ward led Northwestern with a 72-68-82—140, finishing in 3rd place and under par for the tournament. Benjamyn Eastes placed 28th with an 81-72—153. Austin Cowan and Wayne Heffington finished in 29th and 46th place, respectively. Cowan carded an 81-73 —154, while Heffington shot an 81-79 —160. M.T. Morrow rounded out the scoring for Northwestern scoring with an 84-77 —161 for 48th place. Jay Lee and Kelby Schick were the individuals for Northwestern. Lee shot 78-74 —152 putting him in a tie for 25th. Schick carded a 84-78 —162 placing him at 50th. </p>

<p>The Lady Rangers opened their first day of play with a 352, which set them at 4th place after the first day. Northwestern finished two strokes better on day two with a 350 giving a total team score of 702 for the tournament. </p>
<p>Amanda Dixon led the way for Northwestern with a pair of rounds in the 70’s, shooting 78-76 —154. Stephanie Martin finished 19th overall with an 84-93—177. Brooke Carvell carded a 94-91—185, which put her in a three-way tie for 25th. Lindel Godfrey was right behind Carvell in 28th place with a 96-90 —186. Kayla Peters rounded out the scoring for Northwestern with a 121-104 —225 putting her in 38th place. Jacey Ford played as the individual for Northwestern. She finished with a 95-94—189, good for 30th place. </p>
<p>The Lady Rangers next tournament is set for Sept.12-13. <p>Bryant Briggs led Northwestern with a 77-81-82—240, finishing in 40th place. Benjamyn Eastes wasn’t far behind, placing 42nd with a 79-83-81—243. Tyler Mays and Jay Lee finished in 46th and 47th place, respectively. Mays carded an 89-87-83—259, while Lee shot a 91-86-88—265. Drew Holden founded up Northwestern’s scoring with a 108-93-91—292 for 50th place.</p>

<p>The Rangers finished with a team total of 337 the first day and finished two shots better on day two with a score of 335. The two-day total was good for a 672. Rogers State University won the event with a 609.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Chad Piper led Northwestern with a 79-83—162 and finished in 15th place. Kyle Ward tied for 16th with an 85-78-163. Tyler Mays was tied for 35th with a 90-85-175. Benjamin Eastes carded an 87-89-176 and tied for 37th, while C.J. Wilson shot an 86-91-177 finishing 39th. Jay Lee and Drew Holden played as individuals for Northwestern. Jay Lee tied for 37th with an 86-90-176 and Drew Holden finished 45th with a 90-95-185.</p>
<p>The next tournament for the Rangers is on April 4-5 at the Oklahoma Baptist University Spring Invite at Shawnee Country Club in Shawnee, Okla.</p>

<p>The Rangers shot a 319 on Monday and improved by three strokes on Tuesday with a 316 for a two day total of 635. Northwestern was just two shots off of third place as Dodge City Community College shot a 633. Bethany College won the event with a two over par 578.</p>
<p>Bryant Briggs led Northwestern with a 79-78—157 and finished in a tie for 11th. Benjamyn Eastes tied for 13th shooting 79-80—159 as C.J. Wilson was tied for 17th with an 81-79—160. Chad Piper and Tyler Mays tied for 19th as they both shot a 161. Drew Holden rounded out the Rangers’ scoring as he carded a 79-90—169 for 23rd.</p>
<p>The Ranger golf team will return to action on March 28-29 at the Oklahoma Wesleyan Invitational played at Hillcrest Country Club in Bartlesville.&nbsp;</p>

Bryant Briggs tied for 12<sup>th</sup> with an 88-79—167, while Kyle Ward tied for 14<sup>th</sup>, shooting an 84-84—168. Benjamyn Eastes finished in a tie for 23<sup>rd</sup> with an 89-84—173 and Chad Piper shot a 95-100-195 to tie for 51<sup>st</sup>.</span></span></p>

Chad Piper and Benjamyn Eastes were a shot from one another, with Piper taking 32nd with an 86-83-76—245 and Eastes carding an 81-82-83—246 to tie for 33rd. C.J. Wilson and Jay Lee both fired a 259 to put them in a tie for 39th. </p>
<p>The Ranger golf team will be back in action on Oct. 4-5 at the Texoma Championship hosted by Southeastern Oklahoma State University at the Chickasaw Pointe Golf Resort in Kingston.</p>

The Rangers combined for a two-day total of 611, shooting 296 on Monday and a 315 on Tuesday on the par 70, 6,322 yard course.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 13px;">Chad Piper led the Rangers with a 73-77-150 and tied for 11th at the event. Bryant Briggs shot a 73-78-151 to be in a tie for 15th, while Benjamyn Eastes carded a 72-82-154. Individually, Kefner Fisher finished 36th with a 78-81-159 as Jay Lee shot 81-79-160, which tied him for 37th. </span></p>

<p>Ward was a two-time state qualifier and all-conference selection at Tuttle High School. He also placed first in the Marlow Invitational. Ward has been a member of the Oklahoma Honor Society and Principal’s Honor Roll, while maintaining a 3.8 grade point average.</p>
<p>“I expect Kyle to come in and make an immediate impact on our team,” stated Bivin.</p>
<p>Ward will be competing in the Oklahoma All-Star Tournament held on Memorial Day Weekend, May 29-30.</p>

<p>In the first two rounds on Monday, Northwestern shot a 334 and 314, before carding a 332 in Tuesday’s final round on the 6,586 yard, par-70 course. The Rangers led the tournament in eagles after the first two rounds and tied for the tournament lead in with two eagles after all three rounds.</p>
<p>Chadd Kunkel shot the low for the Rangers with an 87-72-82—241 for 46th place. Chad Piper and Bryant Briggs tied for 49th with identical scores of 247. Piper’s three rounds were 82-84-81, while Briggs’ were 82-83-82. Jay Lee finished in 51st with an 83-75-90—248 and Tyler Mays rounded the Rangers’ team score with an 88-96-87—271.</p>

Northwestern was overtaken by host school Ottawa University, as OWU shot 10 strokes better on Thursday to win the tournament.</p>
<p>Chad Piper finished in second place, two back from the lead, shooting a 77-77—154. Chadd Kunkel was right behind with a 75-80—155 for third place. Tying for ninth place was Jay Lee and Tyler Mays, who both carded a 163. Bryant Briggs and Kefner Fisher both shot 169’s.</p>
<p>The Rangers will travel to the Highlands Golf Club in Hutchinson, Kan. for the Sterling College Invitational on April 5-6.</p>

The Ranger combined for a two-day total of 648, shooting a 332 on Monday and improving to a 316 on Tuesday at the par 72, 6,463 yard course. </span></span></p>

<p style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: 'verdana','sans-serif';"><span style="font-size: 13px;">Individually for Northwestern, Chadd Kunkel led the way with a 159 for 24<sup>th</sup> place. Olof Tunberg tied for 27<sup>th</sup> with a 161. Jay Lee (Tied for 40<sup>th</sup>) and Bryant Briggs (43rd) were a stroke off, shooting a 164 and 165, respectively. Ty Billey carded a 171 and Jesse Buzzard rounded out the Ranger scores with a 176. </span></span></p>

The Rangers finished just five strokes of the tournament winner Sterling College, shooting a 586 for a 26 over-par tournament. </span></span></p>

Shooting a pair of 73’s both days was Bryant Briggs, who finished tied for ninth. Olof Tunberg carded a 68-79—147 for a seven-over par and placed in a tie for 11<sup>th</sup>. Chadd Kunkel shot a 74-77—151 and Jay Lee clubbed a 76-77-153 for tied for 19<sup>th</sup> and tied for 24<sup>th</sup>, respectively. Jeremy Repp shot a 160, while Tyler Mays scored a 166.</span></span></p>
