There's more to college than just studying and going to class. College is also a social experience where students have the opportunity to interact with others, develop friendships and create lasting memories.

Northwestern's Alva campus offers a true college experience, offering each student a constant variety of extra-curricular activities to choose from in a slower-paced atmosphere.

One of the best ways to meet new friends and be a part of campus life is to live in one of Northwestern's four dormitories, which offer air-conditioned rooms, private bathroom facilities, cable television and game rooms. Students also may choose to select off-campus housing.

During the day, many students socialize and relax in the newly-remodeled Student Center, which features a food court, bookstore, cyber cafe, TV lounge, and game room.

Active students are able to take advantage of the university's new Wellness Center. The $3.2 million facility offers an indoor swimming pool, hot tub, sauna, walking/running track, aerobics area, racquetball courts and a strength training area.Tug-of-war at Bahamma Breakaway

Campus clubs and organizations also are popular among Northwestern students and provide an avenue for meeting fellow students in addition to enhancing the learning process.

Each year, the university is home to a myriad of special events from concerts and plays to athletic events and pageants. Homecoming is an annual three-day event in the fall that attracts thousands of alumni and others to Alva and the campus. Homecoming is filled with events for every taste.Tug-of-war at Bahama Breakaway

The citizens of Alva roll out the red carpet for Northwestern students. The city offers a variety of restaurants, shopping opportunities, and special services that cater to students. Part-time employment opportunities are available at many businesses. Each spring, the business community co-sponsors the Bahama Breakaway with SGA, where the downtown square is converted into a beach-like setting for food, games and fun.

Northwestern strives to make your campus life experience a positive one in a friendly and safe environment. We're sure you'll cherish your time spent as a Northwestern student.
