The State of Oklahoma is in the process of discontinuing the printing of paychecks.
A new State law in Oklahoma (74 O.S. 292.12) requires all state agencies-- including NWOSU-- to enroll every employee in the Direct Deposit program no later than 7-1-07. If you have not already enrolled, please bring a voided personal check to Room 102 of Herod Hall as soon as possible.
Direct Deposit is a free benefit and provides security and peace of mind each payday. Sometimes workers lose paychecks and must wait several weeks for replacements. We never know when bad weather will close our offices on payday, so Direct Deposit is a win-win employer-provided benefit for all.
Enid workers--see Charleen in the Business Office. Woodward--see Linda in the Dean's Office.
Student and Part-time Staff ("PTS") paystubs for WORK PERIOD P (see chart below), are ready in the Business Office (1st floor, west wing of Herod Hall) to be picked up by student workers.
More importantly, your pay should already be deposited in your chosen bank account for Work Period P.
The next payday is scheduled for September 4, 2008, for WORK PERIOD Q (see chart below).
Part-timers should remember to hand in their time sheets before leaving for a holiday or break. Government regulations will not allow our office to "cross over" semesters on a given payroll, so time sheets received in the semester worked will receive priority treatment.
Attention E&G/Work Study/Part-Time Staff ("PTS"):
The Excel version of the time sheet adds hours for you and calculates gross
pay instantly. Just click on the hyperlink
below and save the worksheet on a diskette to use each month, or in
a folder on your hard drive if you have a work station.
Hint: Some computers may ask you for a username and password in order to open the file. Clicking Cancel usually works. After opening the file, you may have problems saving directly to a diskette. If so, just try right-clicking the hyperlink below and choosing "save target as." This should allow you to pick a location to save the time sheet for use each month.
You may be at risk of identify theft if you enter your Social Security number before saving the time sheet. Students are asked to never place more than the last 4 digits of their Social Security numbers on the electronic time sheets.

GOOD NEWS!
If you do not have access to Excel, call 327-8530 or 8531 for a manual version of the new time sheet. Any part-timer or supervisor wanting a personal demonstration of the Excel time sheet is welcome to come to Human Resources, Room 102 in Herod Hall, for a demonstration.
Part-time workers should print out the following time schedule and post in their work area to avoid missing payroll deadlines. In order to pay workers that meet the official deadlines as quickly as possible, the NWOSU Payroll Office must hold late time sheets until the next available payroll. Please help us pay you on time!
The Payroll Office can no longer "hold" a paycheck for missing information or paperwork, so incomplete time sheets must be held for the next available payroll. This policy takes effect July 1, 2007!
NOTE: If you work from a Temporary Employment Action form ("TEA"), you are called "Part-Time Staff" or "PTS." (Part-time teachers are referred to as "Adjunct Instructors.") Call Debbie Ackerman at 580-327-8175 for information and assistance.
Attention PTS (Part-time Staff) and Adjunct Teachers:
Have you ever wished you could set aside money for your retirement on a tax-deferred basis? Call 580-327-8530 and ask for more information about our 403b tax-deferred program. It's easy and it pays off when you'll need it most--at retirement time!
