  • Couple's dedication continues through Northwestern scholarship

    Decades in the education field and a lifetime of connections with young people led Clara Simon to establish an endowed scholarship at her and her husband Dean’s alma mater, Northwestern State College, now Northwestern Oklahoma State University, in 1996. The scholarship, for students in Northwestern’s teacher education program or for those pursuing a health-related degree, was a fitting choice for the lifelong educators.

  • Anonymous donor endows theatre scholarship at Northwestern; Matching challenge issued

    An anonymous donor has contributed $50,000 to the Northwestern Oklahoma State University Foundation to establish the Linda J. Stewart and Kimberly K. Weast Theatre Scholar Award and is issuing a challenge for the gift to be matched.
  • Community Bank scholarship recipients announced

    Community Bank offered four Northwestern Oklahoma State University freshmen scholarships during Ranger Preview last fall. Students must attend Northwestern for a year in order to receive the scholarship.   • Garnett Family endows scholarship at Northwestern

    The family of the late Dub Garnett has donated $20,000 to endow the W.G. “Dub” Garnett Memorial Scholarship through the Northwestern Oklahoma State University Foundation. This scholarship is Dub’s perpetual gift of help for those who need it. Any student with a 2.5 GPA living in Woods County or northwest Oklahoma may apply for this scholarship with preference given in business or agribusiness.

    Students majoring in business, e-commerce and agriculture (BEA) were recognized for receiving scholarships for the 2008-2009 year at the annual BEA Awards Ceremony at Northwestern Oklahoma State University.
  • Kasya Frech awarded Randy Murrow Scholarship

    Kasya Frech, Helena sophomore, has been awarded the Randy Murrow Memorial Scholarship at Northwestern Oklahoma State University. Frech is the chosen recipient based on her academic achievements, participation in leadership and student activities, and her general attitude toward life. She is a psychology major.

  • Benson Family endows scholarship at Northwestern

    A great debater. Sports fanatic. Family man. Billy Parkenfarker? All of these can be attributed to one man, Don Benson. In his 70 years on this earth, he did the things he loved and loved the people that surrounded him, none more than his family. So it was only right that the family he loved establish a scholarship in his honor. The Don and Donna Benson Family Scholarship was established for students attending Northwestern Oklahoma State University.
  • Northwestern kicking off scholarship drive in Alva Feb. 17

    Northwestern Oklahoma State University and the Northwestern Foundation, Inc. will kick off the Alva Scholarship Drive on Tuesday, Feb. 17, and it will run through March 10. On-Campus and Off-Campus Chairpersons, team captains, and team members will meet on Tuesday to finalize their lists and get ready for another successful year.
  • Woodward Regional Hospital Auxiliary Scholarship created

    Dr. Carole McKenzie, associate professor of nursing and nursing division chair, and Skeeter Bird, chief executive officer of the Northwestern Foundation and Alumni Association, accept a donation to establish the Woodward Regional Hospital Auxiliary Scholarship for juniors and seniors in Northwestern Oklahoma State University’s nursing program.
