Jordan Gaskill of Waynoka, a senior at Northwestern Oklahoma State University, has been awarded for the second year in a row the $1,000 Miss State Scholar Award from the Miss America Organization in conjunction with the Miss Oklahoma Pageant, currently underway in Tulsa.

Jordan Gaskill of Waynoka was crowned Saturday night as the 2009 Miss Northwestern Oklahoma State University. A junior majoring in biology, she will represent the university at the Miss Oklahoma Scholarship Pageant June 1-6 in Tulsa.

Six women have entered the 2009 Miss Northwestern Pageant to be presented in Herod Hall Auditorium at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 31. Tickets for the event are $8 in advance and may be purchased through the Northwestern Business Office at (580) 327-8534 or from JoDe Bradt, pageant director. She may be contacted at (580) 430-1978. Tickets at the door will be $10, and Northwestern students with a current ID card will be admitted free.

Sasha Townsend, Miss Oklahoma International 2008, will emcee the 2009 Miss Northwestern Oklahoma State University Pageant held in Herod Hall Auditorium at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 31.
