    Nearly 400 volunteers from Northwestern Oklahoma State University are preparing for “The Big Event,” on Saturday, April 10, beginning at 8:30 a.m.  Conserving Our Ranger Environment (CORE) members, students, faculty and staff are planning to say “thank you” to communities for supporting Northwestern.

    Northwestern Oklahoma State University has been named to the 2009 President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll, the highest federal recognition a college or university can receive for its commitment to volunteering, service-learning and civic engagement.

  • CORE recognized by state for "Big Event"

    Conserving Our Ranger Environment (CORE) at Northwestern Oklahoma State University is a finalist for a state award for the group’s role in the “Big Event.” The group was nominated by the Board of Directors for Keep Oklahoma Beautiful. Group advisers and select members will travel to Oklahoma City Nov. 17 for a reception and awards ceremony where the “Big Event” will be described and recognized.

    Oklahoma Gas and Electric (OG&E) representative Mike Sheriff will discuss wind energy and renewable resources at Northwestern Oklahoma State University on Wednesday, March 4, during the weekly CORE meeting in the Education Center, room 109, at 3:30 p.m.
