WELCOME
The entire Northwestern community is actively preparing for the next Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association accreditation review, which occurs once every 10 years. A consultant-evaluator team will visit April 19-21, 2004. Committees comprised of students, faculty, staff, and administrators are busy studying the institution to learn what the university is doing well, areas that can be improved, and how to best plan for the school’s future. The steering committee selected a CASTLE theme for this project. The theme is designed around the landmark structure “the Castle on the Hill” that once graced the campus. Although this building was destroyed by fire in 1935, the university continued to grow and prosper. The castle has come to symbolize the progressive spirit and perseverance of the Northwestern community. The CASTLE acrostic affirms the university's mission and states that the university is a community committed to advancing student and teacher learning excellence. Your feedback and suggestions will be greatly appreciated as the university conducts this self-study. Feel free to contact anyone listed in the directory with your input. You are invited to follow the process as Northwestern continues to learn today to lead tomorrow. Dr. Cheryl Evans Self-Study Coordinator & Steering Committee Chair |
