Welcome to the Foreign Language
Department of Northwestern Oklahoma State University. Our three full-time Spanish instructors and one part-time German/Russian instructor are always willing to help any student in need of academic assistance and they help Spanish students experience the Hispanic cultural through authentic materials and interaction with native speakers. Dr. Dorothy Day and Dr. Kari Lopez have lived in Spanish-speaking countries. Classes, limited to 28 students, emphasize communicative skills. The Spanish instructors are also active in the university's Spanish club, Olé. Olé is involved in both university activities and civic projects.
Olé has adopted a small Costa Rican school and is assisting them with contributions to aid with their
meager financial resources. School supply items are always needed. For more information, contact
the Spanish club if you wish to make a contribution. In
addition, Olé sponsors a Mr. Cinderfella contestant. The Phi Beta Lambda organization on
Northwestern's campus produces this event annually. This handsome fellow is dressed in authentic
Spanish attire.Students may study Spanish in Puebla, Mexico and receive college credit through NWOSU. Contact Dr. Dorothy Day for more information. NWOSU ||
