Education:
Mary Ellen graduated from University of Central Oklahoma in December 1994 with a Bachelor of Science in Education with emphasis in Special Education. She received a Masters of Education from Northwestern Oklahoma State University July 2003. Mary Ellen earned National Board for Professional Teaching Standards Certification November 2005.
Experience:
Mary Ellen taught special education at Alva High School from 8/1997 to 5/2006. She was an adjunct faculty at NWOSU. Mrs. Nutter is certified by the Oklahoma State Department of Education in special education areas of Learning Disabilities and Mentally Handicapped, PK-12. Her National Board Certification is Early Childhood through Young Adulthood Exceptional Needs Specialist. She received program completion in the Oklahoma State Department of Education, Special Education Services Transition Specialty Program April 2001. While a special education teacher at Alva High School, she wrote and was awarded a State Department of Education grant to implement a new transition program for mentally handicapped students.
Prior to a new career in public education, she spent 22 years in the business industry with the last 12 years employed by Hewlett-Packard as Administrative Supervisor.
