
Dr. Holder completed her doctorate degree in Curriculum and Instruction with Language Arts emphasis from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Her dissertation was entitled The Teacher Education Portfolio: An Instrument for Professional Growth? She received her master’s and bachelors’ degrees from Northwestern Oklahoma State University and is certified by the State Department of Education in secondary language arts. Lisa has worked in a variety of capacities in the education field. She taught for six years in the Alva High School language arts department and spent nine years at Northwest Technology Center as the Education Enhancement Center Coordinator. Her current research interests include Oklahoma’s mandated portfolio for teacher education candidates, student motivation, and remediation at the secondary and post-secondary levels. She teaches a variety of undergraduate classes and graduate courses. Dr. Holder came to Northwestern Oklahoma State University in the fall of 2002.
