Dr. Sallee received her doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction in Elementary Education from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma. She received her master’s and bachelors’ degrees from Oklahoma State University and is certified by the State Department of Education for Elementary and Secondary Principal Administration.  While teaching second grade, she was asked to teach the primary and intermediate math methods courses during the summer sessions at OSU.  It was through this experience that sparked the desire to earn her doctorate degree.  During her nineteen years of public school teaching, she taught 2nd, 4th, and 5th grades.  Dr. Sallee has made local, state, and national presentations on inquiry-centered teaching and learning, hands-on math activities, whole language, reading strategies, spelling, using literature with mathematics, and science.  Her current research interests include inquiry-centered learning and curriculum integration.  She teaches a variety of undergraduate methods classes and graduate courses.    Dr. Sallee came to Northwestern Oklahoma State University in 1997.
