Mass Communication Program

  • Classes prepare students for careers in, but not limited to, radio, television, newspaper, magazine, public relations, advertising, church media, corporate or government communication and politics.
  • Graduates are able to gather information, process information and create accurate messages for mass audiences.
  • Past graduates are currently employed in the broadcasting industry and in the newspaper industry, as public relations professionals, college instructors, lawyers, ministers and a variety of other careers.
  • Starting during a student's freshman year they have the oppurtunity to gain hands-on experience through working with campus media.
  • Award winning campus media which includes: Northwestern News, KNSU Ranger Radio, NWTV Channel 7 & RangerPulse.com.

Speech and Theatre Program

  • Classes prepare students for professional applications in theatre and speech-related fields, which include, but are not limited to, professional, community, religious and technical theatre, speech education, speech competition, speech pathology, public speaking, human resources, public realtions, politics and the media.
  • Award winning Forensics and Debate team. Students on the Forensic and Debate competitive team has placed fourth or above in every Great Plains Forensic Conference (GPFC) tournament attended.
  • Variety of club oppurtunities in which students can become actively involved from day one.
