Walch Center for Business Development

Welcome to the Walch Center for Business Development!

Our Walch Center for Business Development (CBD) was created as an endowed chair in 1994 from the contributions of the Pearl Louise Marlatt Walch family and NWOSU alumni. Aligned with the overall mission of the university, our mission is to serve NWOSU, northwest Oklahoma, and the state of Oklahoma by:

► Assisting in business development, retention and expansion;

► Aiding in local, regional and statewide economic development efforts;

► Providing business and employment opportunities;

► Offering professional development and continuing education.

The CBD provides an environment conducive to business development and entrepreneurial activities and fosters economic development in northwest Oklahoma and the state of Oklahoma. Located in Shockley Hall on the Alva campus, our services include assistance through the NWOSU Business Incubator, the Northwest Oklahoma Professional Development Center, Small Business Institute®, and Career Services. We serve northwest Oklahoma, including the Oklahoma panhandle and the state region west of Interstate 35 and north of I-40. Through the World Wide Web, our market is worldwide.

Our Advisory Council consists of individuals who represent various industries in northwest Oklahoma. Their valuable input assists us in staying current with changes and trends from their respective business and industry as we meet the needs of northwest Oklahoma through counseling, education and training.  It is vital for Northwestern Oklahoma State University to stay on the cutting edge in preparing our students and our business clients for future success.
