  • Two Northwestern Band Members Participate in Oklahoma Intercollegiate Honor Band

    January 29, 2015 -- Northwestern Oklahoma State University students Amy Mikles and Amanda Metcalf were selected to perform with the Oklahoma Intercollegiate Honor Band, which rehearsed and performed Jan. 21 and 22 as part of the 2015 Oklahoma Music Educators Conference in Tulsa.  Metcalf, Enid freshman, is a music education major and plays the clarinet. Mikles, Turpin senior, plays the alto saxophone and will graduate from the pre-med program in May.

  • English Program to Sponsor Creative Reading Series

    January 29, 2015 -- The Northwestern Oklahoma State University English program is sponsoring a Creative Reading Night once a month for a four-month series. The event will take place at the Graceful Arts Gallery and Studios (523 Barnes in Alva) and is free and open to the public.

  • Northwestern to go on 'Red Alert' Feb. 5, other Spirit Week events planned

    January 27, 2014--Northwestern Oklahoma State University is going on “Red Alert” for the women’s and men’s basketball games against Harding (Ark.) University in Percefull Fieldhouse Thursday, Feb. 5, at 5:30 and 7:30 p.m.As part of Northwestern’s Red Alert promotion, Ranger fans are encouraged to wear red, paint their faces and bring signs to the game. Northwestern will help in this cause by giving the first 700 fans free red Red Alert t-shirts.

  • University Singers to Perform at Carnegie Hall in New York City in March

    January 21, 2015 -- Twenty-one members of Northwestern Oklahoma State University’s premier choral ensemble, the University Singers, currently are preparing for their East Coast Performing Arts Tour in New York City this spring. The group will be gone March 15-19 and will visit a variety of venues.The tour will begin with a performance at St. John the Devine on March 16 at 10 a.m.
