Dear Prospective
Rodeo Team Members:
We appreciate you taking the
time to visit our web site. Northwestern Oklahoma State University has
a proud history in college rodeo and wishes to continue that proud tradition
by attracting top athletes to its program.
At Northwestern, we try to focus
on quality rather than quantity, with our average team size of 40-45 students.
Rodeo scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate competitive
abilities in their respective events. A student must maintain a 2.5 grade
point average in twelve credit hours per semester to acquire and retain
these scholarships. Some out-of-state waivers are available.
We have both indoor and outdoor
practice facilities. Practice stock is provided by the rodeo program and
selected team members are paid for the majority of their travel expenses.
In addition, Northwestern has a great location within the Central Plains
Region of Kansas and Oklahoma with our farthest rodeo being less than 300
miles.
If you are interested in applying
for a scholarship, please contact the Office of Recruitment at NWOSU, give
me a call at (580) 327-8688 or contact me via email at tskolb@nwosu.edu.
Team tryouts are ongoing in our regular practice sessions.
We are committed to excellence
in our rodeo program and are looking for outstanding men and women who
can join us in that commitment.
Sincerely,
Tim Kolb
NWOSU Rodeo Coach
