Todd
Q. Clark
Head Coach
Todd
Q. Clark is the fifth head coach in the history of Northwestern's
women's basketball program.
For
the past two seasons, Clark has been the top assistant coach at the
University of Texas-San Antonio, an NCAA Division I program. In the two
seasons since his arrival at UTSA, the program went from seven wins in
1999-2000 to a 16-12 mark last season and a third place finish in the
Southland Conference.
"I'm
very excited and elated about the opportunity to coach at
Northwestern," Clark said. "I know about the tradition of the
program and the school, and to be selected as the head coach is quite an
honor. I believe that we can have a winning program that will represent
the school and the city very well."
"Everyone
who has worked with Todd said the same thing, that he was very
instrumental in the success of their programs and was willing to work as
hard as he could to win," said Barton. "I'm looking forward to
having him become a part of our athletic program."
Before
his stint at UTSA, Clark was the assistant coach at perennial juco power
Cowley County (Kan.) Community College. In three seasons, Cowley was
91-9 and nationally ranked each season.
Clark
also has coaching experience at Pratt (Kan.) Community College, Colby
(Kan.) Community College and Newman (Kan.) University. He was head coach
at Newman for four seasons.
Clark
is a 1986 graduate of Kansas Wesleyan University and received a master's
degree from Wichita State University. |
