Northwestern’s soccer team fell 2-0 to Bethany College on Thursday and was defeated 3-1 by Sterling College on Saturday to round out Northwestern’s (0-7) non-conference schedule.
Bethany College scored two second half goals in the 2-0 win. The Swedes scored their first goal just five minutes after halftime and then converted on a goal with nine minutes to go in the game.
Northwestern took two more shots than Bethany, shooting 15 times with seven shots on goal, while the Swedes took 13 shots and posted six on goal.
Kelsey Archer picked up four saves.
In Saturday’s matchup with Sterling, Northwestern tied the game at 1-1 at the 24:28 mark when Kathryn Montes scored an unassisted goal. Two more second half goals resulted in the Rangers’ two point loss.
Northwestern shot 10 times, recording four on goal, while their counterparts shot 12 times and landed half of them.
The Ranger soccer team will host their first Sooner Athletic Conference game on Wednesday, Sept. 30 at 4 p.m. at the Alva Rec. Complex.
