HUTCHINSON, Kan. – Shannon Rose paced the Northwestern women’s cross country team with a sixth-place finish, while Jordan Sanders led the Ranger men for a 13th finish at the Blue Dragon Invitational hosted by Hutchinson Community College on Saturday.
Rose ran a 16:01 in the 3.82 kilometer race to take sixth place. Mercedes Key finished in 16th with a time of 18:35. Northwestern held down the 18th, 19th and 20th spots, as Shelby Ashcraft recorded a 19:40, Desirae Guffy posted a 20:21 and Allison Fischer ran the course in 21:50.
In the men’s race, Sanders received his 13th placing after running a 21:14 at the 5.65 kilometer course. Kevin Strawn took 16th place with a 21:21, while Brandon Harris was 21st after running a 22:39. Chaunce Carrico posted a 23:28 for 23rd and William Navarro was 24th, running a 24:35.
Northwestern will participate in the Cowboy Jamboree in Stillwater at 8 a.m. on Sept. 25.
