MCPHERSON, Kan. – In just their second tournament of the 2009-10 season, Northwestern’s men’s golf team placed second at the Central Christian Fall Invitational played at Turkey Creek Golf Course in McPherson, Kan. The Rangers finished just five strokes of the tournament winner Sterling College, shooting a 586 for a 26 over-par tournament.
Ty Billey led the charge for NWOSU with a 70-72—142, two-over par, and tied for fourth place. Shooting a pair of 73’s both days was Bryant Briggs, who finished tied for ninth. Olof Tunberg carded a 68-79—147 for a seven-over par and placed in a tie for 11th. Chadd Kunkel shot a 74-77—151 and Jay Lee clubbed a 76-77-153 for tied for 19th and tied for 24th, respectively. Jeremy Repp shot a 160, while Tyler Mays scored a 166.
Northwestern next men’s tournament will be at the South Central Kansas Fall Invitational at Winfield Country Club in Winfield, Kan. on September 21-22.
