The Ranger soccer team fell 4-0 to NCAA Division II Northeastern Oklahoma State University in Northwestern’s first home soccer match of the season.
Northeastern controlled the ball for the majority of the game, getting off 37 shots to just five Rangers shots at goal. Northwestern had two shots in the opening period and three in the second. Brittany Bunch and Christina Nunez both got off a pair of shots while Kelsey Burdick had a shot on goal.
The Rangers found themselves down 2-0 at the half and the second half resulted in two more scores for NEOSU.
In the net for Northwester, Kelsey Archer picked up 16 saves on 20 shots on goal.
Northwestern will tangle with in-state rival Southwestern Oklahoma State University at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 13 at the Alva Rec. Complex.
