MATA NAMED CSFL SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Northwestern Oklahoma State University kicker Robert Mata was named the Central States Football League Special Teams Player of the Week, after the Rangers’ 55-13 loss to Colorado State University – Pueblo in the 2010 season opener.

The 6-3, 185-pound native of Covina, Calif., averaged 41.0 yards per punt, punting nine times for 369 yards against CSU-Pueblo. He had a long punt of 58 yards and pinned to punts inside the 20-yard line.

The Rangers are idle this week and will head to Vermillion, S.D. on Sept. 18 to play the University of South Dakota in a 4 p.m. game.
