RANGER SOCCER TAKES HOME OPENER 1-0 OVER OKLAHOMA WESLEYAN

The Northwestern Oklahoma State University soccer team picked up its first win of the season, in a 1-0 win on Saturday against Oklahoma Wesleyan at the Alva Rec. Complex.

The Rangers owned control of the ball in the first half, shooting 12 times and holding the opposition to just two shots.

Brianne Brown scored the game-winning goal during the 68th minute on an assist from Cathy Wabenga.

Northwestern shot 21 times, landing a third of its shots on goal.

In goal, keeper Kelsey Archer had five saves, as the Eagles shot 12 times.

The Ranger soccer team will remain idle until Thursday, Sept. 9, when Northwestern will battle Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford for a 5 p.m. game.
