NORTHWESTERN SOCCER BLANKED IN NEBRASKA

Christina NunezThe Ranger soccer team fell to 0-2 on the early season, as they suffered their first shutout of the season in Hastings, Neb. against Hastings College.

 

Northwestern didn’t get a shot off in the game, while its opposition blasted 31 shots, including 18 shots on goal.

 

Kelsey Archer picked up 14 saves while playing the complete game in the net for Northwestern.

 

Hastings scored its first goal in the fourth minute of the game and capped off the first half with a goal at the 59 minute mark. In the second half, Hastings scored back to back goals within a minute, scoring at the 77th minute and during the 78th minute.

 

Northwestern will open its home portion of its schedule on Friday, Sept. 11 when they play host to Northeastern Oklahoma State University at 3 p.m. at the Alva Recreation Complex.
