SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. – Northwestern’s soccer team fell 3-1 to John Brown University in Siloam Springs, Ark. in the Rangers’ first Sooner Athletic Conference match of the season.

John Brown took a 1-0 lead into halftime with a goal during the 15th minute. Amanda Tosh scored her second goal of the season just four minutes after the second half got underway, tying the game at 1-1.

Less than a minute later, JBU struck again with a goal and added its third and final score during the 85th minute giving the Golden Eagles the victory.

Northwestern got off four shots in the game, with three coming during the second half. Both of Amanda Tosh’s shots were on goal, while Taylor Marsh was the only other Ranger to shoot.

Kelsey Archer came away with 10 saves, as John Brown fired 13 shots on goal.

Northwestern (3-5, 0-1) returns to Alva on Saturday, Oct. 2 for a 2 p.m. match with Oklahoma City University at the Alva Rec. Complex.
