Northwestern Oklahoma State University’s trio of Korey Williams, Rocky Lee and Edgar Colmenares, swept the Central States Football League honors for the past weekend. The three did so as the Rangers had no problem with Texas College in the home opener in Alva, downing the Steers 79-20.
Williams, a senior from New Orleans, La., set a new single-game school record for receptions, hauling in 14 passes for 156 yards and a touchdown. He also rushed once, picking up 18 yards.
Lee, a linebacker from Jonesboro, Ga., tied for the game-high in tackles for Northwestern with six tackles, while having three solo and three assisted tackles. He scored a touchdown on a 29-yard interception, had 2.5 tackles for loss of eight yards and added half a sack.
A freshman kicker from Pauls Valley, Colmenares tied the single-game record for most extra points in a game with nine. He scored the Rangers first three points with a 20-yard field goal. He also averaged 64.7 yards on seven kick offs.
Northwestern (1-2, 1-0) will head to Rolla, Mo. to take on its third NCAA opponent of the season when they meet Missouri University of Science and Technology on Saturday, Oct. 2 for a 1 p.m. kick off.
