ALVA, Okla. – Taylor Marsh scored her first two goals of the season, lifting Northwestern Oklahoma State 2-1 over Sterling College (Kan.) in soccer action in Alva on Tuesday.
Marsh connected in the second half for both goals, with her first goal during the 57th minute off an assist from Lee Gunn.
Sterling came back to tie the game eight minutes later.
Marsh’s game-winning goal came late, during the 84th minute of the match, giving the Rangers the hard-earned win with under six minutes to go. Christian Nunez was credited with the assist.
Shots were plentiful, as the two teams combined for 37 shots on the night. Northwestern took 20, including 13 first half.
Kelsey Archer advanced to 2-4 on the season in the goal, saving nine Warrior shots.
Northwestern (2-4) will host Southwestern Christian College in Alva at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 23 in the Rangers final non-conference game of the season.
