MCPHERSON, Kan. – The Ranger women’s golf team started the 2009-10 in fine form, winning the Central Christian Fall Invitational on September 14-15. Northwestern shot a 345 on Monday and a 360 on Tuesday to take first place by 37 strokes. Stephanie Martin was the medalist with an 85-80—165.
Martin edged out the second place finisher by a stroke, as she was 25 over par. Three other Lady Ranger golfers finished in the top five places as Ida Arvidsson shot an 83-90—173 for third place. Cari Hall and Brittany Mead finished fourth and tied for fifth, carding a 85-95—180 and 87-94—181, respectively. Emilee Beard finished in eighth with a 92-95--187. Brittany Meredith shot 99-95—194 for 13th, while Meagan Scott finished tied for 17th with a 108-109—217.
The women’s team will next compete in the South Central Kansas Fall Invitational hosted by Southwestern College (Kan.) at the Winfield Country Club on September 21-22.
