Northwestern Oklahoma State’s soccer team fell a goal shy of Southwestern Oklahoma State University on Thursday afternoon, as all the scoring took place in the first half in Northwestern’s 2-1 loss.
Southwestern got two early goals, the first during the sixth minute of play, and the second in the 13th minute.
The Rangers struck with its goal as Meagan Palmer scored her first goal of the season on a free kick from 40 yards out during the 32nd minute.
Northwestern was outshot 16-5, as five different players shot for the Rangers, landing three on goal.
Kelsey Archer gathered nine saves, playing all 90 minutes in the net.
Northwestern’s next match will be Saturday, Sept. 18 at the University of Texas – Brownsville played at Oklahoma Christian University. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.
