Four teams from the Northwestern Oklahoma State University’s Intercollegiate Athletics Program have been named NAIA Scholar Teams. The women’s golf, women’s cross country, women’s basketball and women’s soccer teams have been named to this distinguished honor.
“I know all of our coaches have worked hard on the academic part of the game and it is extremely gratifying to see four of our intercollegiate teams honored by being named an NAIA Scholar Team for the 2008-09 school year,” remarked Director of Athletics Bob Battisti. “We appreciate the extra time our student athletes devote to academics and are deserving of this team honor.”
For a team to be considered for the NAIA Scholar Team award, they must have a minimum 3.0 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) as defined by the institution. The team grade point average must include all varsity athletes certified as eligible.
