The Northwestern Oklahoma State soccer team fell 6-1 in its season opener against NCAA Division II East Central University in Ada on Saturday.
East Central led 4-0 before the Rangers lone goal came from Christina Nunez during the 74th minute. Nunez’ goal was unassisted.
The Tigers went on to score two more goals in the final 15 minutes in rout to the 6-1 victory.
Northwestern got off three shots in the game, with Nunez taking two shots and Nicole Leffingwell adding one. The Tigers fired 26 shots in which 10 of those ended up as saves by Ranger goalkeeper Kelsey Archer.
The Rangers head to Hastings College (Neb.) on Wednesday for their second game of the season beginning at 2 p.m.
