ARKANSAS CITY, Kan. – The Northwestern Oklahoma State University cross country teams participated in the Cowley County duels this past weekend at Arkansas City, Kan.
Shannon Rose led the Ranger women with a time of 14:31 and finished in 28th place out of 51 participants. Krystle Noda recorded a 14:52 for 34th. Shelby Ashcraft and Mercedes Key were 11 seconds apart, as Ashcraft turned in a 15:44 and Key finished with a 15:55, putting the duo in 45th and 47th, respectively. Desirae Guffy followed Key with a 16:00 for 48th and Allison Fischer rounded out the Rangers with a 51st place with a time of 16:27.
In the men’s race, Kevin Strawn paced the Rangers with a 26th place finish with a time of 17:17. Jordan Sanders finished in 18:32 for 45th and William Navarro was 59th with a 20:03. Chaunce Carrico completed the course in 20:10 for 61st and Zack Bowie had a 21:17 for 63rd.
Northwestern Oklahoma State’s next meet will be on Oct. 10 at Oklahoma Baptist.
