Andrew Brown, head coach of the men’s basketball program at Northwestern Oklahoma State University has signed transfer Johnie Sanders of Otero Junior College (Colo.) to a Letter of Intent to play basketball for the Rangers in the upcoming 2010-11 season.

Sanders, a 6-4 wing from Minneapolis, Minn., averaged 10.6 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game. He shot 48.1 percent in 25 games played.

“Johnie brings a lot of things that I believe will make us better,” remarked Brown. “He is high energy on the boards, prides himself on being a great defender, and he can score from all over the floor. He has proven be a solid leader with an outstanding work ethic.”
