Head Northwestern Oklahoma State University men’s basketball coach Andrew brown announced today the signing of Brandon Wooley of Austin, Texas. Wooley will join the Ranger basketball team for the upcoming 2009-10 season.
“Brandon brings a lot of versatility to our team,” stated Brown. “He is very strong and can create shots for other people. He brings a lot of energy on defense and rebounding. Brandon brings something we lacked on the perimeter last season with his ability to finish off the dribble and create his own shot.”
Wooley, a 6-3 wing from Akins High School, averaged 10 points, seven rebounds, five assists and 2.5 steals per game last season. For his efforts, he was named second team all-district.
“Brandon is a very skilled and versatile player,” stated his high school coach David Peavy. “He has great court awareness, a tremendous feel for the game and is a fiery competitor. He is by far the toughest kid that I have been privileged to coach. Brandon played a major role in turning his high school team around. He led his team to back to back post season appearances. He will be greatly missed, but left us with a great example to follow.”
