Northwestern Oklahoma State University’s Wade Schwerdtfeger was one of 22 NAIA players selected to the 2011 Capital One Academic All-District Baseball Team. Schwerdtfeger was named to the list as a second-team catcher in District VI.
The Academic All-District® teams are selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America and divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada. The University Division team includes NCAA Division I participants, while the College Division team combines NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, NAIA, Canadian and two-year schools.
Schwerdtfeger holds a 3.97 cumulative grade point average in pre-med. Over his three-year stint, Wade played 115 games and batted .312 for the Rangers.
