Northwestern Oklahoma State University men’s basketball coach Andrew Brown has recently signed Jonathan Freemyer of Kingwood, Tex. to a Sooner Athletic Conference Letter of Intent.
The 6-5 power forward from Kingwood High School, averaged 16 points and seven rebounds per game. He shot 57 percent from the field and hit 40 percent of his shots from three-point range.
“Jonathan helps us with inside depth and versatility,” remarked Brown. “He is a good finisher around the basket and posts strong. He will add flexibility to our baseline because of his ability to shoot the three.”
Freemyer was the District 19-5A Most Valuable Player and was a first-team all-region selection. He helped lead his team to the District Championship and was the MVP of the Kingwood Classic.
“He comes from a program where he has been coached and their system has a lot of similarities to ours in regards to how they utilize their big men,” exclaimed Brown.
Freemyer was coached by Royce Huseman while at Kingwood High.
