SHAWNEE, Okla. – Amanda Dixon tallied tournament victory number seven of the 2010-11 season, as Northwestern finished second at the OBU Spring Invite played on April 4-5 at the par 71, 6,041-yard Shawnee Country Club.
The Lady Rangers held a one stroke lead after the first round, shooting a 383, and carded a 388 on the second day for a two-day total of 771. Oklahoma Baptist won the tournament with a 749.
Dixon won the tournament by 13 strokes with an 85-79—164. Cari Hall was the only other Lady Ranger finishing in the top ten, placing eighth with a 98-96—194. Jacey Ford carded a 103-104—207, finishing 15th. Hope Conneywerdy took 21st with a 116-109—225 and Stephanie Martin shot 97 in her opening round, but withdrew in the second round.
The next tournament for the Lady Ranger golf team is on April 18-19 at the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament at Heritage Hills Golf Course in Claremore, Okla.
