Northwestern Oklahoma State University announced today the signing of Brandon Harris of Oklahoma City and Marshall Bell of Katy to play basketball for the Rangers for the upcoming 2009 season.
Harris, a 6’1 combo guard, averaged 14.2 points and six assists to help lead the Northwest Classen Knights to the area finals in Class 5A. He was awarded all-conference and was honorable mention all-state as a junior.
“Brandon is a player that has a chance to be good. He sees the floor well and is willing to make the extra pass. He also has the ability to spread the floor because he has the ability to knock down the perimeter shot. I think his best basketball is ahead of him,” stated Ranger head coach Andrew Brown.
Marshall Bell, a 6-0 combo guard from Katy, Tex., also joins Northwestern. The Morton Ranch High School senior averaged 23 points, five assists, four rebounds and two steals per game. He was voted first-team all-district 18-5A and was the District Offensive Most Valuable Player.
“We expect Marshall to make an immediate impact next season,” remarked Brown. “He has the ability to play either guard position, create his own shot and can really shoot with range. Marshall has the ability to create shots for other people and brings great leadership qualities to our team.”
